24-hour Man — Employee who travels the route 24 hours before the rest of the circus, putting up roadside arrows to direct travel and making sure the lot is ready. Aba-daba — Any dessert served in the cookhouse. Advance — Teams of employees traveled ahead of the circus route to put up posters and arrange for advertising, often visiting each town several times (four weeks, two weeks and one week before the show.) They often traveled on dedicated "advance cars" or "bill cars," rail cars carried on freight trains, and had just one day at any stop to carry out their assignments. Milk a Cow

Visited Shatto Milk dairy farm today! My husband happily went along (which was surprising). We took our new (to us) Cadillac convertible; too bad it rained. We had a great time touring the tasting room, milking room, and bottling area. I'm pretty sure we were the only ones without kids, so we "borrowed" a few along the way.  Milking a cow; checked off my bucket list! It was easier than some movies and TV shows make it out to be; but I'm glad I don't live on dairy farm.  After we had all the milk samples we could take. We headed to a few a wineries. Meet the wonderful owners of  Black Silo Winery . One winery,  Windy Wine , even had "Fully Cocked", instead of "Fully Cooked" sausage...just the way I like it! Remember the rain, we decided to push our luck and not put the top up. We got completely soaked and then couldn't get the top to latch and had to drive all the way home (60 miles) with our hands out the window holding it...
