Eat Caviar

April 11, 2015 Boom, eat Caviar checked off my bucket list!  Amy Q surprised me with reservations for us at 801 Fish to try Caviar.  We ate Russian Osetra Caviar and it was amazing. I was so surprised by the thoughtful gesture and the interest she has in helping me check off new things.  I know its not just for me, I can see the excitement she gets too. The texture of Caspian Osetra caviar tends to be a bit firmer than other types of caviar, yet still delicate. The Ossetra sturgeon fish, found mainly in the Caspian Sea, is usually harvested in Ira...

Take a Cooking Class

March 12, 2015, I checked an item off my bucket list... take a cooking class !  I took the class with my best friend, Amy Q.  It was so much fun.  There were 16 people in the class and 4 cooking stations.  Everyone came with a partner, except two girls.  I remember thinking at the time, what's wrong with these girls that they had to come by themselves; of course they joined our cooking station. Like all teams, we followed the stages of team dynamics (forming, storming, norming & performing).  In the end, we were all laughing together and having a great time; I'm sure the wine helped.  Finally, after 3 hours and 4 amazing dishes...I thought to myself this time, how courageous of these 2 girls to be a part of something, where they were forced to meet new people; and I felt grateful that I was part of that experience! Here's the menu: We learned to shuck oysters & made a Mignonette sauce Fried oysters with a mustard sauce Shrimp Scampi Po...

Bucket List

A young, yet very wise co-worker, who I would consider a friend, mentioned that she was doing an annual bucket list with items equal to her age...so 25 new things at 25 years old; or in my case, 35 at 35.  I thought this was an amazing idea, so I adopted it for myself and thus starts my adventure.  However, I had a hard time stopping at 35, so I keep adding.
