Take a Cooking Class

March 12, 2015, I checked an item off my bucket list... take a cooking class !  I took the class with my best friend, Amy Q.  It was so much fun.  There were 16 people in the class and 4 cooking stations.  Everyone came with a partner, except two girls.  I remember thinking at the time, what's wrong with these girls that they had to come by themselves; of course they joined our cooking station. Like all teams, we followed the stages of team dynamics (forming, storming, norming & performing).  In the end, we were all laughing together and having a great time; I'm sure the wine helped.  Finally, after 3 hours and 4 amazing dishes...I thought to myself this time, how courageous of these 2 girls to be a part of something, where they were forced to meet new people; and I felt grateful that I was part of that experience! 24-hour Man — Employee who travels the route 24 hours before the rest of the circus, putting up roadside arrows to direct travel and making sure the lot is ready. Aba-daba — Any dessert served in the cookhouse. Advance — Teams of employees traveled ahead of the circus route to put up posters and arrange for advertising, often visiting each town several times (four weeks, two weeks and one week before the show.) They often traveled on dedicated "advance cars" or "bill cars," rail cars carried on freight trains, and had just one day at any stop to carry out their assignments.
